Since its inception, The Good Samaritan Society has been mission-driven, not profit-driven. Four basic hallmarks continue to define Good Samaritan ministry: Christ-centeredness, resident-centeredness, staff-centeredness and community centeredness. The desire to care for the whole person – body and soul - remains the Society’s foremost objective.

Mission
The mission of the Good Samaritan Foundation is to support The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society’s mission of “sharing God’s love in word and deed by providing shelter and supportive services to older persons and others in need" well into the future. The Foundation gathers, grows and provides the channels through which gifts and grants flow to support and to improve the quality of life of those in our care.
